At The Skills Centre, we provide a safe, welcoming space where adults with learning disabilities and young individuals can grow in confidence, learn new skills, and build meaningful connections.
We’re here to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity—focusing on life skills, independence, and community inclusion. Through engaging activities, supported learning, and social interaction, we help individuals thrive at their own pace, in their own way.
We also partner closely with parents, carers, and enablers, offering support, guidance, and a true sense of community for everyone involved.
Whether it's through hands-on workshops, creative projects, or a simple cup of tea and conversation, The Skills Centre is where growth begins and lives are built—together.

🌟 NOW OPEN – The Skills Centre 🌟
We’re excited to welcome you to our brand-new Skills Centre, a vibrant, hands-on space packed with creative projects, practical activities, and new hobbies to discover!
From textiles, hairdressing, baking and gardening to woodwork and more, there’s something for everyone to get stuck into. Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, find a routine, or simply make new friends in a supportive environment – we’re here for you.
Our Skills Centre is open to:

Adults with additional needs

Individuals facing mental health challenges

Young people no longer in mainstream education

Anyone feeling a bit lost and looking for purpose, friendship, or a fresh start
🔸 Please note: We offer a wide range of activities and skill-based projects, but we do not provide accredited courses or qualifications.
Come as you are – leave with skills, confidence, and connection.

🕒 Opening Times & Pricing
Our sessions run Monday to Thursday, 9:15am – 2:15pm.
💰 £10 per hour
You’re welcome to book consecutive sessions if you'd like to stay for a longer period.
Whether you want to pop in for an hour or spend the whole day with us, we’re here to support your journey.

Our Journey so far......
Hey Everyone!
Welcome, we are all about community here and we have been listening to what Newton Abbot needs. We have had a lot of support already for some incredible organisations in Teignbridge, of which we are so grateful. We have had a few hurdles to get to where we are now but we are very excited to say that everything is moving in the right direction.
2024 - We cannot wait to open the doors to our inclusive skills centre. Please keep checking back for more updates.
